Mother swan and her cygnets

My local paper The Courier is having a My town photo competition and this is my entry above

Most mornings I walk around Lake wendouree which is Right in the middle of my town Ballarat and the other day I spotted a mother swan and her little baby cygnets and of course no camera to take the shot. so today I packed my camera hoping to catch sight of the group today well my luck was in she and her brood where sitting on the opposite side of the bank and just as I got my camera out to zoom in.It was like she was happy to help me get an even better photo as she led them down into the lake and they swam right up to me.It was great to see bird life on the lake again as for some time now because of the drought it has been a completely dry lake bed so wish me luck and I will keep you posted
